Announcement of the Appointment of Head of Research & LUCA Laboratory

LUCA Science Inc. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) is pleased to announce that Dr. Hisashi Ohta has been appointed as Head of Research & LUCA Laboratory at our Hokkaido university campus from October 1, 2020. With this opportunity, all of us at LUCA Science are determined to do our best to enable new areas of mitochondrial therapy under our new organization.

Comment from Hisashi Ohta

We aim to create superior drug seeds based on innovative ideas and knowledge, and work with our collaborators to provide drugs for diseases for which existing treatments and cures are inadequate.

Profile Hisashi Ohta, Ph.D.

Hisashi worked at Tsukuba Research Institute of MSD Japan, (former Banyu Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd) as Head of Pharmacology, Sato Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, as Head of Research and Development Center, Torii Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, as Executive officer・Head of Research Laboratories. After retired Torii Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, he had been working as a private consultant on the field of Pharm, Medical Device and Food Industries in addition to a contract based technical counselor in Food Safety Commission Secretariat before joining LUCA science on October, 2020.
